how to fix sharepoint designer when it gets out of sync

Sometimes SPD gets confused as to which files are checked out or not and to whom. This fix generally works.

Copy this code and paste it in your HTML 
  1. 1)	Delete IE temp files
  2. 2)	Delete files in %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WebsiteCache
  3. 3)	Make sure SPD is pointing to FQDN (http://portal.contoso.com) of the site, not just the server name.
  4. 4)      Hit CTRL F5 in the folder view in SPD
